FESTIVAL CARVED SPOON AND OTHERS

An eight-meter long spoon, which claims to enter the Festival Book of Records, is to be carved by craftsmen from Belarus and Lithuania.

 The "City of Masters" Crafts Fair, located in the city’s central streets, with 300 craftsmen showing their skills, this year merged with the Vitebsk Region and all-Belarusian coachings, exhibiting their regions’ crafts, trademarks and amateur art.

Wood carving is to be paid the greatest attention this year. The International Contest “Tree of Life” is an exciting open event, where the lookers-on can observe the masters’ work at Lenin Street, 35a. Applications for participation in the competition from 40 carvers from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, have been submitted.

The I International Festival-Competition of Majorettes and Drummers will be launched. The show promises to be beautiful and create a mood with 20 teams from Vitebsk, Russia, and Estonia.

The Freedom Square is to become the venue for the tournament of social dancing in the open air. 72 couples will show their skills on July, 15. Everybody interested can attend master- classes of the “Coquette”, “Cracovienne”, and a brand new one “Bazaar” dances.

On 16 July the Freedom Square will host the festival-contest for theaters of fashions "Fashion Divertissement" competing in four nominations “Heritage”,”Vivat, Festival!”, “Modernity” and “Upside down”.

Vitebsk promotes a healthy lifestyle. The citizens and guests can join the action-concert "Long Life!", and watch the contest of cultural organizers.
