People’s Artist of Russia (1996)

In 1992, at the first festival he took part in the concert of the Day of Russia and gave a solo concert on stage of the Summer Amphitheatre.Valery Leontiev is a regular participant of the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”.

In different years he participated in gala concerts of masters of arts of Russia and jubilee shows of top flight artists of the Soviet and Russian stage.

His solo concerts and recitals were held in 1995, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011.

The International Festival of Arts of 2009, when Leontiev was awarded the special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko “Through Art to Peace and Mutual Understanding” and had his Star on the Walk of Fame, was the eighth festival of arts in his career.

Valery Leontiev was born on 19 March 1947 in Ust-Usa, Komi ASSR.

He graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Culture named after N. Krupskaya.

In 1979, he won the first prize at the All-Union Contest inYalta for the best interpretation of the songs of the Soviet Nations.


His creative collaboration with composer David Tukhmanov brought him the first prize of the XVI International Festival “Golden Orpheus” (1980, Bulgaria).

He became famous after his collaboration with such outstanding composers as Raimond Pauls, Aleksandra Pahmutova, Aleksandr Morozov, Igor Krutoi and others.

Leontiev’s first solo production was "I Am Just a Singer", followed by the concert programs “I Run For Life”, “Alone With Everybody”, “Confession”, “It Seems To Me That I Haven’t Lived”,“A Matter Of Taste”, “Full Moon”, “Under Casanova’s Spell”, “On The Road To Hollywood”, “Unnamed Planet”, “The Best Of”, “"I Love You, Miss You, I'm Waiting”, “By Popular Demand”….

Valery Leontiev appeared in feature and musical films, including “Na Chuzhom Prazdnike” (1981), “If I wish, I will love” (1985), “How To Become a Star” (1986), “Paranormalist” (1991), “Cinderella” (2003).

Valery Leontiev has been recognized as “Singer of the Year” over 20 times. His awards include but not limited to Cavalier of the Order “For the Rebirth of Russia. 21st Century” (2003), Order of Merit For the Fatherland of the IV Degree (2005), Order of Mikhail Lomonosov (2007), Order of Peter the Great (2007), Order of Honour (2009), Order of Friendship (2014).

The show “On The Road To Hollywood” won the National Russian Prize “Ovation” (1996).

In 2014, Valery Leontiev presents a new jubilee show, premiered on 28 March in the Kremlin Palace of Congress (Moscow, Russia).
