Tofig was born on December 12, 1991 in Baku; a graduate of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, with a degree in Theatre Directing.
In 2011 and 2012, he competed in the National Preliminaries for the Eurovision Song Contest. Tofig received "The Most Charismatic Performer" Award at the International Pop Music Festival "Discovery-2015" (Bulgaria), took part in the TV project "Voice of Azerbaijan" Semi-Finals, got into the top four of the National Preliminary Contest for the ESC (2019) and was appointed EYOF Volunteers Ambassador.
Since 2013, he has been employed as an actor for the Shusha State Musical Drama Theater.
Tofig is the author and performer of the Volunteers' Anthem of F1 Grand Prix of Azerbaijan and the host of the TV show "3 Canlı" ("MTV Azerbaijan").
Tofig Hajiyev wrote the soundtrack to the series "Faded flowers", filmed to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Jafar Jabbarli, an Azerbaijani playwright.
