Popular singer, composer, lead singer of “Ace of Base” band
Jenny Berggren was born in Gothenburg on 19 May 1972.
She practiced violin, studied classical music and sang for the church choir.
In the late 1980s, Jenny, her brother Jonas Berggren, her sister Linn Berggren and Ulf Ekberg, formed “Ace of Base” band.
In 1990, the band signed a contract with the Danish label “Mega Records”.
Soon the company released the debut album “Happy Nation”, which has sold 30 million copies in the world so far. In the United States the album was certified 9-times platinum.
By the end of 1994, “Ace of Base” had won 6 World Music Awards, several Grammy nominations in different countries, 3 Billboard Awards.
The band successfully toured in many countries of Europe and Asia.
Jenny Berggren is the songwriter of “Hear Me Calling”, “Ravine”, “Wave Wet Sand”, “Experience Pearls”, “He Decides”, “Love In December”, “Beautiful Morning”, “Change With the Light”, “What's the Name of the Game”.
As a lead singer, she performed almost all the songs of the band except six.
In 2003, Jenny Berggren started pursuing a solo career.
In 2008, she published her autobiography “Vinna hela varlden” (“To Win the Whole World”) in Swedish.
In 2009, she began working on the singles for her solo album.
On New Year’s Day 2010, Berggren released her first song, “Free Me”, as part of her solo career.
In May 2010, she released her first solo single, “Here I Am”, which reached number 14 on the Swedish charts.
On 15 September 2010, she put out her second single “Gotta Go”. Her debut album “My Story” was released on 13 October 2010.
On 3 February 2011, Jenny placed second in the Danish national final for “Eurovision” with the song “Let Your Heart Be Mine”.
Berggren takes part in national television shows, gives concerts and participates in charity events.
