Jun 25, 2019

The Street Art Fest “On Seven Winds” launches its fifth edition and will once again bring together street musicians, dancers, actors, performers, puppeteers, fire shows, poets and bards. Enjoying great popularity with the Vitebsk city residents and guests of “Slavianski Bazaar”, the Street Art Fest invites everyone wishing to plunge into the “windy” atmosphere of creativity in the open air from 11 July to 15 July.

According to the project curator, the Art Director of the Vitebsk Youth Theater “Koleso” Vlada Tsviky, the street art festival expects participants from Belarus and Russia.

“We decided to prepare as many performances and events as possible to attract people not only as onlookers, but as participants. This year’s feature is the absolute openness of the fest,” says Vlada Tsviky.“The carnival “Promo Wind Overture” is to prove that our venues are interactive and open to everyone. Its participants include the music group “RACCOON BATUCADA”, the first and Belarus’s only school of carnival Samba and Brazilian drums, the theater “Koleso”, the Studio “House of Wind”, the experimental theater “T(e)=Art” and others.

The carnival procession starts with the fireworks announcing the end of the gala concert of the Opening Ceremony of “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”. Everyone wishing to dance and have fun is welcome to join us near the Town Hall. The carnival route travels to the venue in front of the Concert Hall “Vitebsk”, where a night dance party “Give buzz” is to take place. This year there will be no official opening and closing of the festival “On Seven Winds”, but the spectators will be able to see all participants on 12 July during the evening parade at the venue in front of the Concert Hall “Vitebsk” and the presentation of groups at Pushkin Square.

In addition to the mentioned venues, the street art fest events will take place on Tolstoy Street, Pushkin Bridge, in front of the Puppet Theater “Lyalka”.

The city will provide sites for dance arenas “Time to Dance” and “Rock-n-roll Here”. There will be living statute theaters and forum street performances. The sound of music will fill the streets and there will come “Time of Fire Wind” with fire shows. “On Seven Winds” is the only festival that can boast a great number of poets and bards.

This year the emphasis is on the classical art. The street art fest will first welcome the Volgograd Children Symphony Orchestra and 45 musicians will play in the open air.

For the first time the fest will feature the participation of the Vitebsk Regional Children and Youth Palace with a musical quest performance “LOUD CROUD”.

The festival Vitebsk will host a meeting with the Russian street art theaters “Bespredel”, “Bezlimit”, “Nose”, the Minsk theater “Galaktika”, the Vitebsk theatre “Koleso” and many other groups.

For five July days in the city you can dance, listen to music, play and enjoy creativity. You won’t get bored to the “sound of wind”.
