“ALAN”. DANCE AND PASSION

The State Academic Dance Ensemble “ALAN”, the holder of the Order of People’s Friendship (North Ossetia-Alania) performs in Vitebsk for the second time and again gets a standing ovation. For 80 years the ensemble has been promoting the culture of the Republic all over the world. "Alan" was awarded the Golden Medal of the International Festival of Five Continents in France.

Headed by Ruslan Tedeev, the ensemble, one of the best dancing teams in Russia, carefully preserves the traditions of Ossetia’s and the peoples of the Caucasus’ dances.

Each of the 16 compositions presented within the project “Festival without Borders” is a mini play telling the history of the nation and its art, striking with grace and vigor, smoothness and swiftness. Each movement was skillfully sharpened like the daggers used. The greatest audience appreciation enjoyed the "Dance with daggers", "Games of shepherds", "Dance with doles", and “Eagle Tribe”.

The "Dance with daggers" performed by Alik Pliev with 12 daggers fly in the hands, in the mouth, on the dancer's head is something unimaginable and absolutely flawless.

The "Armenian lyrical dance" performed by the female ensemble shows both majesty and dignity.

The beauty of dancing goes along the splendor of costumes and adds color to the Festival.
