QUEEN OF THE BALL CHOSEN IN WONDERLAND

The fabulous contest-tournament in the magical country of Wonderland finished on July 18 in the Concert Hall “Vitebsk” with a gala concert of the XIV International Children Music Contest “Vitebsk-2016”.

It was a celebration dedicated to the art of young talent, creativity and international friendship, which has been strengthening for twenty-five years at in the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”. The fabulous country that brought together the representatives from 20 countries honored its heroes. Or rather, heroines!

For two days the acclaimed professionals headed by Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, artistic director and principal conductor of the Presidential Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus, Chairperson of the Jury of the XIV International Children Music Contest "Vitebsk-2016", Victor Babarikin objectively evaluated each contest performance and witnessed a musical miracle.

Finally, time came for the jury to choose prize winners according to their merits, and name the Queen of the ball.

But, like any competition, the contest had its intrigue and when all the participants came out on the stage, the jury began awarding diplomas of participants of the XIV International Children Music Contest “Vitebsk-2016”. The Diploma holders are: Masha (Armenia), Tereza Todorova (Bulgaria), Una Shushnitsa (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Diana Hartwig (Germany), ALISA (Israel), Melisa Kovaleva (Latvia), Ayri (Lithuania), Kiana Fenech (Malta), Daria Shvets (Moldova) Maria Palii (Romania), UNA (Serbia), KHAYRISHA (Uzbekistan), IVKA (Montenegro), Alisa Gaychonok (Estonia).

The jury members also presented a number of special prizes. One of them, an invitation to the festival “Sunny Beach” in Bulgaria from August 21 to August 28, 2016, went to KHAYRISHA (Uzbekistan).

A special prize – an invitation to the festival “Orpheus” that will be held from September 8 to September 14 in Italy, was given to UNA (Serbia) and Tereza Todorova (Bulgaria).

Melisa Kovaleva from Latvia will go to the festival “Open Europe - Open Planet” in Moscow.

Elena Svilpe, president of the International Festival of Vocal and Music for Young Performers “RIGA SYMPHONY”, presented a Certificate and a Commemorative token of the World Association of Festivals to Daria Shvets (Moldova).

The International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” is held with the support of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Belarus and Russia Union that traditionally grants its prizes to the young contestants.

The Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly on Social Policy, Science, Culture and Humanitarian Affairs, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the Belarus National Assembly Nikolai Kazarovets and a member of the Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly on Social Policy, Science, Culture and Humanitarian Affairs, the Chairman of the Standing Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Alexander Segodnik presented the Special Prize to Anastasia Zhabko (Belarus). Another Special Prize of the Parliamentary Assembly was awarded to the Russian contestant Anastasiya Gladilina.

Finally, the winners of the XIV International Children Music Contest “Vitebsk-2016” were announced.

The Special Prize and Diploma of the III Prize winner went to Nela Zhakova (Czech Republic) and Ramina Sarmurzina (Kazakhstan).

The Special Prize and Diploma of the II Prize winner were equally divided between two contestants - Tina Ruseva (Macedonia) and Katerina Manuzina (Ukraine).

The Special Prize and Diploma of the I Prize winner were awarded to Anastasiya Zhabko from Belarus.

The Grand Prix of the XIV International Children Music Contest “Vitebsk-2016” and “Golden Lyre” went to Anastasiya Gladilina (Russia). According to the contest rules and regulations the Grand Prix winner gets a money prize of US $ 5 000 (five thousand US dollars).
