Zlata Ognevich was born on 12 January 1986 into a family of a military surgeon Leonid Bordyug and a teacher of the Russian language and literature Galina Bordyug in Murmansk (Russia). In her childhood and adolescence Zlata and her family lived in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg), Minsk, Sudak.
The singer graduated fom the National Aviation University (Kyiv) and R.M. Glier Kyiv Institute (jazz vocal). She worked in the State Song and Dance Ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zlata Ognevich is the winner of the contest “First Singing Radio Host”, the finalist of the national selections for the Eurovision Song Contest (2010, 2011), the winner of the TV show “People's Star 3”, the I Prize winner of the International Contest of Young Performers “Crimea Music Fest”.
In 2013, she came third at the Eurovision Song Contest (Malmö, Sweden) with the song “Gravity”. In November of that same year she was the presenter of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest together with Timur Miroshnichenko (Kiev, Ukraine).
The singer takes part in different concert events, including the celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine, as well as in numerous charity events.
In 2015, she gave solo concerts in Chicago (USA) and Madrid (Spain).
In 2016, she toured Ukraine with concerts in format of the tour “Light the Fire”.
In December 2016, she gave a recital “My Story” in the National Palace “Ukraine” (Kiev).
In June 2017, Zlata presented a new clip “Dance”.
Zlata Ognevich is taking part in the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” for the third time. In 2010, she presented her compositions in the gala concert “Constellation of Ukraine”. In 2013, she performed on stage of the Summer Amphitheatre in the concert “Night Hit”.
This year Zlata is to participate in the gala concert and the Award Ceremony for the winners of the XV International Children Music Contest “Vitebsk” (July 13, at 14.00, the Concert Hall “Vitebsk”).
