Singer, composer, TV presenter

Yury Vashchuk was born in the village of Hidra, Kobrin District, Brest Region, on 24 January, 1983.

His interest in music developed from an early age. He finished a school of arts, majoring in the button accordion studies, was a prizewinner of the International Contest of Performers “Praleski” (“Snowdrops”) in the nomination “bayan” (button accordion).

His first professional singing contest, bringing him success, was the TV project “Zornaya Rostan”(“Star Junction”).

In 2000, Teo was invited to work in the National Academic Concert Orchestra of Belarus conducted by Mikhail Finberg.

In 2008, he graduated from the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts.

The singer was a presenter of the program“Forward to the Past” featuring the song heritage of Belarus.

In 2013, together with Leonid Shirin, he received the National Music Award in the nomination “Best Author of Music” for the song “Belarus the Great”.

Teo was the host of the project “Belarus Life”, dedicated to the preparation for the ice hockey world championship.

In June 2014, he was the overall winner of the national contest “The Song of the Year” with his song “Cheesecake”.

In that same year Teo represented Belarus in the song contest “Eurovision” with the song “Cheesecake”.

In November 2016, he released a song video in collaboration with Olga Ryzhikova.

The singer has teamed up with the national and international artists as an arranger and composer. He is the author of popular songs performed by Inna Afanasieva, Vladimir Presnyakov, Gunesh, Alena Lanskaya, Aleksey Gross, Slava Nagorniy and Lesya Kodush and many others.

Teo is the co-author of music for two Russian films, “In June 1941” and “Major Vetrov”.

He gives solo concerts.

In January 2018, the song “On Thin Ice” was premiered in a duet with Olga Ryzhikova (music by Theo, lyrics by Olga Ryzhikova).

He also recorded a video for the song “I Run” (music, lyrics, arrangement: Theo, camera operator: Olga Ryzhikova, editing: Artem Onashchenko, Ilia Hmelnitsky).

The singer was a host (together with Olga Ryzhikova) of the national qualifying round “Eurovision” (2018).

Since 2000, he has been a regular participant of the concerts of the International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”.
