THE “SPLEAN” BAND IN THE BIRTHCITY OF MARC CHAGALL

The performance of the St. Petersburg ban "Splean" was the final exclamation mark of the "Slavianski Bazaar - 2017".

There are a lot of rock fans in Vitebsk - there were no empty seats in the auditorium. The audience at the concert was rather diverse: from the smallest ones, who came with their parents, to quite serious people. The energy of the band passed on to the public: people danced to every song, and sang along with the artists. When the well-known compositions were performed the audience could sing even without the singers.

“SLAVIANSKI BAZAAR” AND “CHANSON” BRIDGE US

This year the festival lasts ten days and even after its’ festive closing ceremony the concerts do take place in the Summer Amphitheatre.

The XXVI International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk” has set a kind of a new record- all the concerts were sold out.

The Gala Concert “Chanson TV – All Stars” was no exception to the rule. On July, 18 the concert gathered its constant participants, the ones who didn’t visit Vitebsk for a long time, and those who came to the city for the first time.

FIERY FLESHMOB, LIVE VOCAL AND SELF MADE LIGHTS

This concert was long awaited for by young admirers and fans from the whole country. Previously, Egor Krid, a young Russian singer, performed at “Europe Plus TV” night concerts of the earlier editions of the “Slavianski Bazaar”. This year, Egor Krid’s solo concert took place on the stage of the Summer Amphitheatre.

There was practically no seat left in the auditorium. Girls made up the majority of the audience, though, guys and mums, who brought their teenage children, could also be seen.

SERGEY ZHUKOV: ‘ONE CAN’T SIT STILL AT THE “RUKI VVERH” BAND CONCERT’

The “Hands Up” band celebrated its twentieth anniversary with an incendiary night concert in the Summer Amphitheater. Sergey Zhukov, wearing a red sports jacket and worn out jeans, appeared on stage with the song "Dance". Only the red numbers 20 on a black T-shirt reminded us that that was a jubilee concert.
When the song began, the audience rose from their seats and began to dance. The whole hall was swept by a wave of dancing, and Sergey Zhukov spangled the press sitting below.

“C'EST LA VIE” FROM VALERY MELADZE

Valery Meladze with his programme “My Brother” turned up on the very day of the closing ceremony of the XXVI International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".

Valery Meladze’s life is filled to its maximum not only with concerts, as he is a successful showman, a member of the bank's board of directors, a successful businessman-restaurateur. Right before the beginning of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" he took part in the traditional Moscow holiday of GUM ice cream together with the charitable foundation “I am”. The charity of the singer is well-known.

THEATRE OF OUR DAY

Temperament, the actor's soul and acting, the fantasies of directors, special effects and new interpretations of the good old Stanislavsky system.
The theater is a rush, an eternal search for a new universe. The theater is the constant moment of the birth of a new energy.

The programme "Theater Meetings" annually decorates the Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk".

…Rain. Bridge over the Dvina. Posters and billboards are inviting to performances. From the theater of life we find ourselves in the theater hall.

STREET AFTERPARTY

Let’s sum up the most popular festival program – the III Street Art Fest "On Seven Winds". The work of artists was assessed by the audience, as well as by the Expert Council - representatives of different spheres of art.

YORDANKA HRISTOVA: ‘I LOVE LIFE!’

Her love to music, people and life itself, help Yordanka Hristova, a popular Bulgarian singer, to be fit and not to grow old in her 73.

During her “Start Hour” she, the International Jury Chairperson, naturally had to answer the questions concerning the Contest. In Yordanka Hristova’s opinion the level of contestants was very high. All were musically literate, everyone was singing. Therefore, it was difficult to determine the winner. She attended rehearsals to get to know everyone better. And it was a pity when she heard a much better performance at the rehearsal than at the contest. Being a jury member several times, it was she who awarded Filip Žmaher the Grand Prix in 1995, she believes that for a young performer it is necessary to find his self not to copy anybody. The way Egor Sharankov does.

A unique mono performance “My Path ...” was presented as a part of the Festival project “Puppet Quarter”. “YOU FESTIVAL IS A MIRACLE, EIGHTH WONDER OF THE WORLD!” THE III STREET ART FEST “ON SEVEN WINDS” IS OVER IN VITEBSK

The III Street Art Fest “On Seven Winds” took its final accord in Vitebsk.

Because of the rain on the fourth day of the festival, part of the street performances were canceled, the audience managed to watch only some of them. And they were successful. For example, the street “Bespredel (BezlimF)” theatre (Russia)   showed a performance on a serious topic - about the dependence on the Internet and gadgets. The characters of the play, a selfie-lover, a gamer and others, during the performance, mixed up with the audience, made them play, "distributed Wi-Fi."

STAS MIKHAILOV: ‘STAGE DEMANDS SACRIFICE’

HER LIFE WAS A BRIGHT COMET

Her life was bright and short.
Lidia Klement was a resident of Leningrad, a star of the Soviet variety art of the 1960s. Today her name is remembered only by real experts in Soviet music.
Lidia Klement was able to please the viewers and radio listeners only for two years. But even during this short period of time she introduced many changes to the Soviet stage culture.

“INTERNATIONAL VOICE IN VITEBSK”

In the evening of July 15, the first concert "International voice in Vitebsk" was held initiated by the Board of Festival Directors. The representatives from 12 WAF member countries took part in the concert program. Alexander Sidorenko, WAF President, Director of the Art Forum, spoke about the possibility of the participants to perform at the main festival venue.

Helena Meraai (Belarus), the International Contest of Art "Zalatyaya Kvetka" Laureate, started the concert. Helena's voice struck with amazing subtlety. Each artist’s performance was beautiful in its own way. Thus, Kira Gogoladze (Russia) appealed to the angels. Another representative of Russia Alexandra Tabulina’s performance glowed with joy. Antonia Gigovska (Macedonia) made the audience applause non stop.

This year, the project "Festival without Borders" gave the stage to the leading masters of art, creative groups of Israel and young singing and musical stars.

BRAVO, ITALY!

Magnificamente… of magnificent - this is the main adjective one can bring in when recalling the duet of Claudio Santangelo (marimba) and Stefano Delle Donne (violin). The Italian arts masters’ concert “Two Roads…” within the frame of the “Festival Without Borders” project, charmed the audience of the Vitebsk Regional Philarmonic Hall away.
