Contest

“Lyre”

For the first time the awards were given to the winners of the International Contest of Young Performers of Pop Song at the International Music Festival in 1993. The Grand Prix winner received the “Golden Rooster”. The First Prize, Second Prize and Third Prize winners got the “Golden Egg”, “Silver Egg” and “Crystal Egg” respectively. The authors of the trophies were the artists Tatiana Artyomova and Petr Artyomov.

In 1996, at the V International Festival of Arts “Slavianski Bazaar” the winners of the International Contest of Young Performers of Pop Song got “Cornflower Bouquets”. The trophies were created by the Vitebsk-based artists Tatiana and Yuriy Rudenko.

Since 2002, the contest winners have been given the trophies made by the sculptor Valery Moguchiy from Vitebsk. The sculptural composition, which is an elegant work of art featuring a singing woman with her hands raised towards the sun, is symbolic. Looking at it, one can’t but recognize a silhouette of the lyre and a contour of the Vitebsk City Hall “Ratusha”. At the top of the sculpture there’s a cornflower, a poetic symbol of the Festival. The composition basis reminds of the Summer Amphitheatre stage. The inscription on the basis says “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”. The height of the Festival Prize is 43 cm. Since 2003, it has been called the “Golden Lyre”.
